Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the posts which have arisen within the Authority. The posts are based at Northwest Matabeleland and Mid-Zambezi.
Duties of Position: shall include the following:
- Update and develop 10 – year Protected Area Management Plans (PAMPs),
- Update and develop 5 – year Species Specific Plans (SSPs),
- Define, describe, delineate ecosystems/ produce zonation plans,
- Develop and manage spatial data database,
- Big data management (collection, collation, storage, manipulation and analysis)
- Produce inventories of species,
- Collaborate and engage with stakeholders,
- Mobilize resources for producing PAMPs, SSPs, implementation, monitoring and evaluation exercises,
- Prepare and produce monthly, quarterly, half year and annual reports, baseline survey reports, consultation reports, meeting minutes and any other reports
- Craft and conduct monitoring and evaluation of various PAMPs,
- Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder meetings/ workshops and events,
- Produce annual work plans and budgets,
- Any other duties as assigned by the Protected Area Planning Manager
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- First degree in Geoformation Science and Earth Observation, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management or related field of study,
- Master’s degree holders in the above or related fields of study will have an added advantage,
- Demonstrate ability to apply GIS/ RS tools in planning,
- Ability to use Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT) and Integrated Management Effectiveness Tool (IMET), World Heritage Outlook in monitoring plan implementation
- Strong social and scientific data collection skills
- Good writing skills
- Fluency in English
