TOURISM EVENTS COORDINATOR (C5) X 1

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for the above position which has arisen at Zimparks Corporate Centre in the Commercial Services Division. The incumbent will be reporting to the Curator.

Duties (Responsibilities)

  • Proactively seeks strategies/efficiencies to enhance the visitor experience and planning process for each event
  • Works closely with other staff members and other organizations to coordinate all aspects of each event
  • Assists in creation and implementation of events
  • Identify client’s requirements and expectations for each event
  • Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order
  • Manage all event set-up, tear down and follow-up processes
  • Maintains the garden and supervises sale of plants
  • Books venues, entertainers, photographers, and schedule speakers
  • Conducts final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything adheres to the client’s standards
  • Provides all the required materials before the event

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies:

  • Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management or a related field
  • Good Communication skills – (written and oral),
  • Sound Inter-personal skills,
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • At least 2 years’ technical hands on experience is required
